Firm Profile

Laura J. Gorretta, Esq.

Laura J. Gorretta was admitted to the Ohio Bar in 1986, upon her graduation from Case Western Reserve University School of Law. She joined the litigation group at Jones Day in Cleveland before moving to Ameritrust Company where she was an attorney for the personal trust department. She spent over six years in the Estate Planning, Trust and Probate practice section of Calfee Halter & Griswold in Cleveland before joining David E. Griffiths and Woodward & Griffiths in Chagrin Falls in 1999. With the death of David Griffiths in 2011, Laura opened her own office.

Prior to attending law school, Laura earned her undergraduate degree at Hiram College with honors and election to Phi Beta Kappa and a M.A. in History and Archives Administration at Case Western Reserve University.

As a "small town attorney", her practice has broadened, but her “large firm” experience in  estate planning, wills, trusts, and trust administration remain her focus. In addition, Laura gained experience in charitable giving while serving as the Director of Gift Planning at Hiram College, matching charitable giving techniques to donors' philanthropic goals. Laura also provides legal counsel to nonprofit organizations.
